But not only politicians: in order for a project like this to work out, it has to include as many different actors as possible, both for the economic feasibility of the ideas, and for the political and urban legitimacy of the changes. So yes, get going everyone, pitch in, give thoughts, links, friends, money, friends with money, power and connections.. ;) - this will make me very proud of being a citizen of Copenhagen! And one more thing: the skywalk project could help reduce the many small everyday conflicts between pedestrians and bicyclists, caused by the lack of space and many crossing and intersecting paths. Lift the pedestrians to the rooftops, not only to fresh air and light, but also to spaces free of cars and other traffic dangers. Not to mention of course the environmental effects of these ideas - but they have to be citizen-inclusive in a broad scale, that's just the way things have to work today. I always spent most of the trip staring out the window. Watching others people's reality passing by and wondering how my life would have been, had I chosen a different path. I guess it kind of resembles what the danish writer Herman Bang describes when his own continuous train traveling makes him recall old memories. Some of the restless traveler longing for the peaceful scenery and quiet small town life. Some of the gazing spectators of a passing train longing themselves on board. To me a train ride is also too expensive tickets and often reaching my destination a bit too late. Though, I tend to be forgiving about this, when the cinema of outside scenery starts passing my eyes :) To me a train ride is glimpses into trails of life that I didn’t choose.
